Hello freedivers,
great evening yesterday because we had the very first training of the first independent section of AIDA Belgium since 15 years in Belgium!
This training took place at the Netepark in Herentals. I know this pool very well because I am a member of the Zeekat club and I train there Tuesday since 2011. The members of Zeekat warmly welcomed me and allowed me to practice apnea in their club. I had a few visitors during those years, mostly related to AIDA training.
But last year, Vincent, Anneke Anne made me a very nice surprise by becoming a member of Zeekat too! This year, Thibault, Sabine and Gunther have also shown interest in training with us.
Thanks to these latest events and to my new position at AIDA Belgium, this allowed me to create the very first independent section AIDA Belgium. This means that this section does not depend on another club / federation. To my knowledge, this was the last time at the very beginning of AIDA Belgium, 15 years ago!
I am very proud of this section, I sincerely thank An and Vincent for their support and I hope that this could inspire other AIDA instructors to develop their own section and thus contribute more to the development of freediving in our country.
In fact, with An and Thibault, we also found a very nice place in Herentals to finish the training ^^.
