A few hours before the end of the year, on behalf of the board I would like to wish our members all the best for a sporty 2023 and hope that we can look back on the past year with great satisfaction and beautiful memories.
We started the year 2022 with the Memorial Philippe Desitter and ended the year with the AIDA Belgian Cup.
An event that was created at the time by our former president Jean-Pol François.
During the year AIDA Belgium organized a judge course and the opportunity to obtain the Competition Safety Freediver certificate.
In addition, a trip was started to the pearl in the Atlantic Ocean, in particular to Madeira, thanks to Paul Troisfontaines.
During the summer months, trips were mainly organized to la Roche Fontaine and Vodelée, partly by Paul and Wouter. Felice and Andy also provided ample opportunities this year to further develop your skills.
However, 2022 has also been a difficult year for some, due to the loss of a loved one or serious health problems.
As a national association, we want to encourage those people and mention them here.
This message is also intended to put members in the spotlight, because of their contribution to AIDA or for their achievement during AIDA events.
Marine Simonis with two national records in CWT and in CNF
Sacha Porte with three national records in CWT and in CNF
Mylene Hengen with two national records in STAT and in CWTB
Elisabeth Schalebourg with a national record in DYNB
Roeland Maes with a national record in DYNB
Marylda Martinez for passing the level B judge
and for her contribution as judge international
Andy Buhl for successfully completing the title of Instructor Trainer and for serving on the AIDA Education Committee
Jeroen Van Haudt for his contribution to the Safety Committee
Wouter Van Crombruggen for his contribution as judge international
and his support as webmaster
Paul Troisfontaines for organizing the trip to Madeira
and for his inexhaustible contribution as treasurer
We also do not forget our sponsors of 2022 and thank you:
In 2023 we intend to focus again on more competitions, courses and workshops with the help of you.
Because without the support of all these people, all these realizations are simply not possible.
Previously, Paul sent you an invitation to renew membership, a call to which many of you have already responded positively,
for which we thank you.
This annual contribution should enable AIDA Belgium to organize activities and provide logistical support and material.
Competitions are only one of the pillars that we as an organization provide, and people are always needed to organize these and courses.
We therefore hope to joining force next year, in order to further grow and advance our freedivers community.
Keep an eye on our website or Facebook page regularly.
With sparkling regards,
