The best way to start freediving is to join a club. There you can meet other freedivers and instructors, discover the sport, and sign up for courses.

Possibility of taking courses at different levels: AIDA*, AIDA**, AIDA***, AIDA****, instructor or judge.

Access to training in swimming pools and open water (lakes, quarries) and courses organised by AIDA Belgium.

Access to national and international pool and open water competitions organised by AIDA Belgium or AIDA International

A contribution is always for the current year, unless it was concluded after October 1st, in which case it is also valid for the following year.

In addition to membership and diving insurance, an annual medical examination is mandatory. For this, you must use the AIDA medical declaration form, which you can find here . The form must be signed by a doctor, preferably a diving or sports medicine physician. You keep the original and send us a copy. IMPORTANT! If you wish to participate in competitions, you must always have a valid original form in English.

We also recommend that you have a stress test: every 5 years before age 45, every 2 years from age 45 to 55, and every year after age 55. However, this is not mandatory.

Send an email to contact@aidabelgium.be with a copy of your medical certificate and your diving insurance if you did not choose Ethias insurance. Without this information, your membership cannot be activated.

If you are becoming a member for the first time, you must also send a passport-style photo in JPG format at 300 dpi (3.6 cm x 2.85 cm); this photo will appear on your membership card.

Create an account on AIDA International at https://eos.aidainternational.org/Register . This is very important if you wish to participate in AIDA competitions. Without it, you will not be able to participate in AIDA competitions.
