CALL FOR APPLICATIONS: Freediving Pool World Championships - AIDA Belgium National Team 2026 🇧đŸ‡Ș

AIDA Belgium is happy to open the call for applications for the selection of athletes who will be representing Belgium at the 36th AIDA Freediving World Championships, in Budapest. 


đŸ—“ïž Dates : 30 May – 7 June 2026

📍 Place : Budapest, Hungary – Duna Arena 


This international competition will bring together elite freedivers from around the world in the four pool disciplines: STA, DYN, DYNB, DNF.


Who can apply?


To submit your application, you must:

  1. Be an active member of AIDA Belgium at the time of submission;

  2. Have participated in recent official AIDA competitions (or equivalent);

  3. Comply with the performance and participation criteria as defined by the former Board (reference document below).


Selection process


The National Team will be formed based on:

  • results in AIDA pool competitions obtained during the reference period;

  • measurable and objective performances according to AIDA standards;

  • a complete application file submitted before the deadline.


⏰ Deadline : Friday, 23 January 2026


The selection committee will analyze performance, competition attendance, and compliance with international criteria before publishing the results.

Last year in Japan : 5 athletes selected ‱ 1 national record ‱ 11 PBs
 It was an incredible year! And we strongly believe that Budapest will bring us just as much excitement, emotion and pride.
