The application period for the Belgian national team selection has now closed. We would like to warmly thank all athletes who reached out with enthusiasm and motivation. It was truly inspiring to receive so many messages from freedivers eager to represent Belgium in the future.
For many, this year’s selection was not feasible due to participation in CMAS competitions only, or because they were not yet AIDA Belgium members and therefore couldn’t meet the mandatory selection criteria. We understand these constraints and sincerely encourage all interested athletes to take part in AIDA competitions throughout 2026. This will allow them to submit their candidacy for the 2027 World Championships.
It fills us with excitement and hope to witness, for the first time, such a significant number of athletes expressing interest across various categories and disciplines. The future of Belgian freediving looks bright! 💙
